Normally, I hate surfing the Internet on April Fool’s Day. Most site authors have an over-inflated view of their own cleverness. Most of the “fake” news stories aren’t funny, and it just distracts from the real content.
But I found the SQL on Rails site brilliant. There’s not a lot there, but the taglines and web 2.0-y touches are worth the price of the click.
If you enjoyed this, you’ll probably also want to check out the latest thinking in software development methodolgies as well. Document-driven documentation, indeed.
Hey, maybe in SQL on Rails ‘select last_number from user_sequences’ will actually give you the last number in the sequence. (yes I am still bitter)
Did you check out the screencast? It’s very funny, and if you don’t consider that a lot then perhaps you’ve never made one. It’s harder then it seems.
At the time I made the post, the screencast wasn’t loading, probably due to the slashdotting. But I finally got a chance to see it later, and it is quite funny. They went to a lot of trouble and preparation to put that together. My comment wasn’t meant to be criticism; just that at the time of writing, there were only a few (albeit brilliant) pages to see. Unlike the waterfall site, which I have yet to completely read through…
